About Us
In 2010, Bethann’s husband, Dan, tragically passed away while working as a paramedic. At the time, Bethann was left to raise their two daughters, aged 6 and 16 months. As she tried to navigate her own grief, she also faced the challenges of being a single mother. While focusing on being the best mom she could be, Bethann and her daughters found themselves struggling with how to live day to day without Dan.
When her eldest daughter expressed frustration over friends constantly asking about her dad instead of just wanting to play, Bethann realized it was time to seek support for her children. This was life-changing for their family. Bethann built lifelong friendships, and her daughters found a community that accepted them, providing a space where they didn’t feel different. They discovered not only healing but also a sense of belonging.
This led to the creation of Compassionate Connection, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides support and education for adults and children who have experienced significant loss. Compassionate Connection aims to create a safe, understanding environment where individuals can navigate their grief while connecting with others who truly understand their experience.
Through support groups, retreats, and educational programs, we strive to foster a sense of community and healing for those coping with grief and loss.
